Trigger warning: abuse, rape

Eshal Fayyaz was a guest at Nida Yasir’s show “Good Morning Pakistan” where she revealed a horrifying encounter she had in her childhood when her step-father had tried to rape her. The actress and model was wiping away her tears as she said she does constantly recall the traumatic event. She said that her father had died when she around four years old so her mother then re-married another man, who had tried to rape her when she was a bit older:

“When I was around three or four years old, my father had died and then my mother had re-married another man. When I had gotten a bit older, he had tried to rape me.”

Eshal further elaborated on the traumatic event and said that after the first time she had immediately gone to her mother and told her the truth right there. But then her step father continued trying to molest her three or four more times, so then she and her sister had gone together to tell her mother, who then divorced the man.

“The first time this happened I went to my mother and told her right away about what had happened. And then this happened four more times, so me and my sister went together to tell her the entire story. She then divorced my step-father and since then she has not re-married again.”

We’re so proud of you Eshal for demonstrating such bravery and told the world about this horrific trauma you suffered which is absolutely not your fault. We especially admire your strength to prevent yourself from feeling  ashamed or stay silent about this event, and opened up to your family members immediately  to seek an escape from your abuser.
