Women banned from using mobile phones at Women’s University Swabi

Women’s University Swabi had announced to its students yesterday that from 20th April onwards, mobile phones will be banned on campus. The student who is seen using their mobile phones on campus will be charged Rs 5000. In their official statement, the university said that the ban on mobile phones was established because students were often seen using their devices during class timings which was in turn distracting them from their studies as well their peers and the teachers.  You can read the full statement below

“It is notified for the information of all students that smart phones/touch screens or tablets will not be allowed in the premises of Women University Swabi with effect from 20th April 2022. It has been observed that students use extensive social media applications during university timings which affect their education, behavior and performance. Therefore, it is directed that students sh9uld not use mobile phones during university timings. In case of any violation of the instructions, the authorities will take strict disciplinary proceedings by confiscating mobile phones and imposing a fine of Rs5000.”
