A tragic incident unfolded in Kala Shah Kaku, where a 30-year-old woman lost her life after ingesting acid following a domestic argument, Express News reported. The incident took place two days ago, and the emergency services were called. The rescue officials confirmed that the woman consumed the corrosive substance and her condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting emergency responders to shift her to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Medical staff at the THQ Hospital provided initial treatment; however, due to the severity of her internal injuries, she was referred to a major hospital in Lahore for specialised care. Rescue sources confirmed that despite receiving intensive treatment, the victim succumbed to her injuries, unable to recover from the extensive damage caused by the acid.
Soon after the case was reported to the police, who promptly reached the hospital and completed the required legal and medico-legal procedures. The woman’s body has now been handed over to the family after formal documentation, the police told the media.
The police added that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the nature of the dispute. They have to determine whether there was any criminal involvement to ensure that all aspects are thoroughly examined.
