What seems like a horror-comedy out of Netflix is a real-life case from Kahna, a town situated in Lahore district. The case involves a mother of two, Fauzia Bibi, who allegedly disappeared six years ago, in 2019, under mysterious circumstances. Her family claims that she was abducted by jinns!
The case has been revisited by the Lahore High-court ordering a serious probe into this bizarre situation.
Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Miss Alia Neelum, was vexed at the investigation officer for not starting the investigation earlier inquiring why the matter was not taken seriously where a girl was involved?
Even the report that was presented to the court by the CCPO was written whilst sitting in the court!
The efforts to recover the woman have been intensified following the court orders and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed headed by DIG investigations Syed Zeeshan Raza. The team also includes senior officers from Model Town and Kahna area.
It was presented to the court that the recovery team is using her DNA and data from Nadra and putting it up on Social Media to track her. They are also checking hospitals, Dar-ul-Amaan centers etc for the missing woman.
FIR has been registered under section 365 for kidnapping and due processes have been initiated.
Whether the family is involved in the kidnapping is still a mystery but it must be solved quickly. There are speculations by some ‘X’ users that the family is making up stories to cover the real crime. Violence against women is generally covered in the garb of religion or societal pressure. And this time, it was an unsual paranormal happening that defies all logic.
Chief Justice LHC also got suspicious of the family’s involvement in the disapperance of the woman because of the bizarre claim they had made, and ordered that the investigations should start from her own home to solve the mystery of the missing girl.
Here’s hoping the SIT is successful in recovering the woman safe and sound.
