Actress and model Sunita Marshall was a guest on the FWhy podcast where she addressed comments surrounding why she has not chosen to convert to Islam.

Sunita spoke about the time her husband, actor Hassan Ahmed, had gone on Umrah, and when he had come back he revealed to Sunita that his deepest desire was to see her convert to Islam.

“I told him that until I a truly accept it from my heart, there is no point in converting,” responded Sunita. “And he also said that this was his desire as well.” Marshall added that her husband did not push her further on converting to Islam as both understood that it is something that came from the heart. The actress said she sometimes receives comments from people on Instagram who comment on her poise and elegance and request her to convert to Islam, to which she said such comments were absurd and did not bother her anymore so she refuses to respond to them.

Sunita Marshall also opened up about how while falling in love and marrying her current husband, she did not face any backlash from his family for being a Christian and choosing to follow her faith after marriage. The ‘Khuda Aur Muhabbat’ actress said she and Hassan had dated for five years, and she was on good terms with his family who did not pressure her to convert in order to marry him.
