A horrifying story has emerged from Rahim Yar Khan where a truck trolley driver along with his three children committed suicide by taking poison. According to Geo, the tragedy took place in the Sardar Garh Basti Haji Pir area of Rukanpur village. The driver was unemployed and already in distress over providing for his family.
The man had first given poisonous pills to his two disabled daughters and son before taking it himself. The police said the father and sons had passed away, but the daughter was quickly taken to the hospital where she survived and was currently under treatment.
A similar incident took place back in March 2023 when a family that comprised of a husband, wife and two infant daughters had committed suicide by taking poison because of distress due to unemployment and the rising inflation. According to Dawn, the family was immediately taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the infant was declared as dead, and the sister, mother and father were in critical condition and receiving treatment.
