The Crime Control Department (CCD) of Lahore arrested TikToker Kashif Zamir after he uploaded a video clip where he was seen travelling on a city road with security guards carrying guns.

The police arrested Zamir for violating Section 144, which was implemented in order to ensure no violence erupted during Muharram. Under this order, displaying weapons in public spaces is strictly banned unless given official approval.

A CCD official said the police had recovered multiple videos from Zamir where he was seen travelling on different city roads along with guards carrying guns. Multiple cases were also registered against him at the CCD police station in Johar Town.

This is not the first time Zamir has been arrested by authorities, as previously he was held by police for different cases including fraud.

Zamir posted an apology in a video where he was seen in handcuffs. “A few days ago, my video went viral where I was seen showing off weapons, which caused a lot of disturbance for people on the roads. So I sincerely apologise for that. From now onwards, I will never promote any daala or weapons, so I ask everyone for forgiveness.”
