This week’s episodes of Kafeel have become a topic of online discourse for several reasons: a young girl walking back into a toxic marriage, caring for a selfish household where she is needed for her services. Zeba’s (Sanam Saeed) father, Jawad (Kashif Mehmood), however, has become the star of the episodes.

Jawad ensures Zeba has his support and asks her to file for divorce in episode 9, yet respects her decision to go back. However, in episode 10, when he sees his daughter in a deteriorated state in her in laws house, he brings her back home, never to return.

When Zeba says she will not go back to Jami’s (Emmad Irfani) house, there is no discussion about it. Her father only announces that he will take Zeba to the lawyer in the morning. He tells the family that the lawyer will be hired to sort things out between the couple, but if Jami and his family do not comply, Zeba will file for divorce.

While making the announcement, Jawad states that he will not allow any mourning over this divorce. He also added that a divorced daughter is better than one who keeps living in hell, while parents remain helpless. The fear of society will not make him sit silently while her daughter suffers because of his wrong decision.

Though the father’s support is constant, the divorce talk turns into a murmur as Zeba is expecting her firsts child with Jami. The lens of the whole plot shifts, and Zeba is likely to live with this man and his four children after her father passes away. A glimpse of the current Zeba and her life can be seen in the promo, where she is unable to pay bills with her children, now teenagers, and Jami is still complaining about her family.

The father supporting her daughter’s divorce in the 90s, won acclaim among netizens. Appreciating how he is supporting his daughter fiercely, a user posted on X:
