Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam reveals whether he bought expensive Indian ‘wedding’ sherwani addressing Indian media reports claiming that he bought jewelry and clothes — including a designer sherwani worth 700,000 Indian rupees.

According to an agency that represents him, Pakistan captain a “surprised” Babar Azam vehemently denied reports in Indian media that he went shopping during the ongoing World Cup in the neighboring country and bought a Sabyasachi sherwani, deeming them as false claims.

“We categorically refute these baseless claims and implore such media outlets to exercise diligent fact-checking before participating in any dissemination of misinformation, disinformation, or propaganda.”, wrote the agency  representing Azam saying that the news came as a “surprise” to Babar as well.

Due to strict protection, Pakistani players in India are prohibited from leaving their hotels and spend most of their time in hotel rooms. Mickey Arthur, the director of the Pakistani team, called the intense security his team is dealing with at the World Cup in India “stifling” and said it is making the players feel like they are “back in Covid times”.
