According to an agency that represents him, Pakistan captain a “surprised” Babar Azam vehemently denied reports in Indian media that he went shopping during the ongoing World Cup in the neighboring country and bought a Sabyasachi sherwani, deeming them as false claims.

“We categorically refute these baseless claims and implore such media outlets to exercise diligent fact-checking before participating in any dissemination of misinformation, disinformation, or propaganda.”, wrote the agency representing Azam saying that the news came as a “surprise” to Babar as well.
Due to strict protection, Pakistani players in India are prohibited from leaving their hotels and spend most of their time in hotel rooms.
