Once again, screenwriter Khalil ul Rehman Qamar is back in the mainstream media with his misogynist behavior towards women.
The ‘Teri Meri Khanaiyan’ co-writer was present on a panel alongside with Sahil Adeem where they exchanged some heated words with a female audience member who questioned the duo on their regressive views towards women rights. On one occasion, Sahil said that 95% of women in Pakistan were uneducated, prompting outrage.
A social media user shared this clip on her X account, calling for the duo to be banned from live television.
“Such archaic views should be condemned and have no place in modern discourse. He must be held accountable for his irresponsible remarks,” the post said.
Qamar and Sahil Nadeem’s claim that 95% of women in Pakistan are illiterate is not only inaccurate but also deeply disrespectful.
Their condescending manner towards a young girl, who bravely countered with strong arguments, is appalling.

Social media users lauded the woman for bravely standing up to the screenwriter.
What a brave woman! Also, Kalil ur Rehman saying ‘baat kernay ki tameez nahin hai’ is the biggest irony of all ironies. https://t.co/mxovXrGMko

If these popular men can treat women on live show like this, what do you expect from guys in daily life. Majority are misogynist, egoistic, have no basic manners, and respect for women! https://t.co/EPRTOQMbXy

Before allowing the podium to these bigots to express their frustration and anti women sentiments both idiots need extensive therapy to understand the essence of decent communication. They lack the basic sense and intellect to interact with women. https://t.co/I1t70h16N1
