Actress Hira Khan reacted to a viral comment made by the veteran actress Saba Faisal, who went viral three days ago for commenting on how having sons is a better blessing than girls. The senior actress was a guest on Nida Yasir’s talk show where she recalled a conversation with her sister who only had daughters and no sons. Speaking about how her sister was depressed because she was left alone because had she had a son, the daily issues she faced would have been resolved had she had sons as well.

“This is why I tell those people who say they’re thankful because they have daughters, they should be thankful,” commented Saba. “But they should never think they are satisfied with life.”

Actress Hira Khan shared the video of Saba’s remark and wrote in the caption “Stunned by the audacity and stupidity.”

When she was called out the another actress Sadia Faisal for not respecting another person’s opinion, the ‘Mere Humsafar’ actress urged Saba to remember that as a woman with a huge platform and influence over others, she must remember that saying such things can have huge consequences.

“In a country where newborn babies are killed just because they aren’t boys, where women are already considered a burden – its not okay for someone as big as saba ji to come and say things like this. I absolutely respect her craft but this is not okay.”
