Netflix’s latest release Squid Game is a South Korean show that has gone viral globally. A group of 456 people from various walks of life are invited to play a series of children’s games with life-threatening consequences to have a chance to win a huge cash prize. While the idea of a survival game genre is not a new one, the visuals, convincing plot and relatable characters has made it stand out.

The show also features a Pakistani character played by an Indian actor called Anupam Tripathi. The character is a Pakistani laborer who is mistreated by his employee. He joins the game to provide for his young family after his employer refuses to pay him for months.

Various International celebrities have spoken about the show including Jeff Bezos.“@ReedHastings and Ted Sarandos and the team at @Netflix get it right so often. Their internationalization strategy isn’t easy, and they’re making it work. Impressive and inspiring. (And I can’t wait to watch the show.)” he wrote.
