Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi becomes the number one ODI bowler for the first time. The 23 year old speedster completed his 100th ODI wicket yesterday only to add another accolade to his name the next day.
This achievement comes after Afridi’ three-wicket haul against Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup 2023 where he finished with 3 for 21 in nine overs. This is the first time that Shaheen Shah Afridi has held the No. 1 ranking in any format.
The spot was previously occupied by Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood who now drops to the second position. It is important to highlight that Pakistan occupies the number one place in both batting and bowling currently with Babar Azam also becoming the number one ODI batter recently.
