You can trust Saba Qamar to take on the roles others shy away from: depicting a young ambitious woman, courageous enough to challenge societal norms. She has claimed her reign on PTV again with her character Seher, a vicitm of sexual assault in Case No 9, written by Shahzeb Khanzada.

We’re two episodes in and the drama is already being hailed as a hit, and the social media is a-buzz with praises:

Saba’s performance in Case No 9 is intensely real. As she becomes the character, we can see the pain and anguish a rape victim would go through. She brings depth, and raw emotion to every frame, making each scene impossible look away. And just when when we thought it doesnt get any better than her past performances in dramas like Baaghi, Cheekh, and Fraud. She shows up in Case No 9 and proves us wrong!
But as they say, it takes a village to raise a baby. Case No. 9 is being held together with the support of an amazing cast that’s absolutely killing it. Faysal Qureshi makes the character of the sexual assaulter all too believable tha we almost want to hit him in the face.

Junaid Khan, really stood out for the viewers playing Kamran’s friend Rohit.

Gohar Rasheed and Hina Bayat are also delivering strong performances. We have yet to see Amina Sheikh, Naveen and Noor ul hasan stir up their magic in the courtroom when the case goes to trial.
Apart from great sequences in Case No 9, one thing that stood out is even though the story is predictable it has managed to engage the audience with its attention to detail. The drama upholds its narrative by addressing the whole procedure of going through reporting such a heinous crime.

The script highlights challenges, obstacles and structural faults that come in the way of getting justice.
Some issues that were shown in Episode 2:
The importance of having a lady officer present in the police station for the ease of the complainant.

The ‘Bro Code’ that has Rohit (Junaid Khan) bound to not rat out Kamran (Faysal) is so on point highlighting the dual nature of our society which can be an obstacle for Seher to get justice.

Case No 9 is a perfect informational packet for a sexual assault victim. The journalist is really showing through the script Shahzeb Khanzada has weaved out.
Case No 9 is moving at a fast-pace and has become a must-watch already. We’re eager to see Saba walking up to the podium to fight her case, and have us biting the nails with every move in this courtroom battle. We’re sure it won’t be anything short of an experience!
