Respected Scholar Allama Talib Jauhari passes away in Karachi!

Renowned Islamic scholar, poet and historian, Allama Talib Jauhari passed away at the age of 81 in a hospital in Karachi. His death was confirmed by his son Riaz Jauhari. He was in the intensive care unit for a while and was suffering from a cardiovascular disease and had been kept on a ventilator.
Born in 1938, he was not only a scholar but also an eminent poet, philosopher and historian. He has also served as a teacher of the Islamic Studies at the Government College Nazimabad, Karachi for five years. He learnt Islamic theology for ten years in Najaf under the guidance of Ayatullah-al-Uzma Sayyid Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei. He wrote several books, including a detailed commentary on the Quran. “His book “Hadees – e – Karbla” is one of the few “Maqtal” written in Urdu and has been considered as one of the most well compiled source to the traditions related to the Event of Karbala” according to his website.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also expressed his sorrow over the demise of the Allama Talib Jauhari. Many noted personalities also tweeted about him. Twitter also out poured with loved and sadness when the news arrived.
