
Tragic news came from Wah Cantt, where a married woman was shot dead in the name of “honour”, Express News reported. She was brought back to Pakistan from Qatar on suspicion of having relationships there. She was shot dead in her father’s house, and the killers were the close relatives of the victim’s father.
The order of her murder was allegedly made through phone and video calls from Qatar by the victim’s husband and uncle, who also facilitated the crime. The City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Khalid Hamdani, took notice of the incident and ordered that a case be filed and a large-scale investigation be conducted. The police became the complainant under Sub-Inspector Asif Ibal Khan’s statement.
Upon investigation, the victim was identified as Samira Aziz, who had arrived along with her husband, Suleman and her uncles, Shaukat and Faisal. The shooters, who were identified as Waleed, Israr, and Sabir, came in the evening, sat together, and had consultations. During the investigation, the victim’s sister, Sana Khan, stated that during this meeting, she received a video call from Qatar from Suleman, who instructed the victim’s aunt, Saeeda, to “get rid of” Samira.
This was followed by a shooting by Waleed and Israr, resulting in multiple bullet wounds, resulting in her death on the spot. The suspects fled the scene right after, while the victim’s body was placed in a vehicle by uncles, Shaukat and Faisal and taken to the hospital.
The case was registered under the sections related to murder, honour killing and abetment of crime, and raids are conducted to arrest the attackers. The facilitators, Imtiaz and Suleman, are currently living abroad.
