Mushk has pulled me back into acting: Urwa Hocane

Urwa Hocane is one of the most famous actresses of our industry and started her career as a theatre artist. Further on she started working as a VJ for Ary Musik. She made her acting debut with a leading role in a romantic drama Meri Ladli in 2012 alongside Ahsan Khan and Sajal Aly.

She made her film debut in a romantic comedy film Na Maloom Afraad in 2014 opposite Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh and Mohsin Abbas Haider. The movie got a lot  of appreciation and did a good amount of business at the box-office. She rose to fame after performing the character of Meera in drama serial Udari which was co-produced by Momina Duraid and Kashf foundation. The drama highlighted deeply rooted issues such as child sexual abuse and sexism.

Urwa took a break from the drama industry as she was focused more on polishing her skills as a producer. She announced her first production which is the movie tich button in 2019 but due to the pandemic the release got delayed.

She was seen in drama serial Mushk after four years which is trending for its strong script and fans are in love with her character in the drama.

In her recent interview with Mira Sethi, Urwa opened up about how nervous and underconfident she was when she started shooting for Mushk. She said that the character was so intense and required so much effort that at one moment she thought that she wont be able to do justice with the character and wanted to quit.

 

She further stated the her character in Mushk has helped her polish her acting skills so much that she thinks that she has emerged as a new actress . Urwa thinks that in the process of portraying her character in Mushk, she feels that she gained her confidence back and this particular drama has pulled her back into acting.
