Former PTI politican Maleeka Bokhari thanked the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for intervening in the matter of removing her name from the no-flight list, so that the barrister could visit her ailing sister. Taking to social media, the politician wrote: “Thank you for your timely intervention. I have been informed that my name has been removed from the no fly list.”

Yesterday, the former member of parliament called out people who were using her struggle for PR campaigns in a Twitter post by writing:

“I was placed on an illegal no-fly list for a year. Hundreds of innocent people who have committed no crimes are still on the list, and their freedom of movement remains restricted. My sister is in a coma , and she has suffered brain haemorrhage and fighting for her life on a ventilator. I have, in a dignified manner, responded to the intervention made by Maryam Nawaz. Please stop using my lawful right to travel to see my sister one last time before she dies as your social media campaign for compassion. Have a heart and stop using my pain as your campaign.”
