Lockdown in Islamabad after PTI protests, couple goes viral for hilarious wedding photoshoot
It seems like nothing can stand in the way of a Pakistani wedding. Not even when there is a city-wide lockdown imposed by the government.
The district administration of Islamabad has imposed a lockdown over Islamabad after the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf called for a “do-or-die protest” against the incarceration of the former prime minister Imran Khan.
According to Geo, internet services were disrupted across the country, and strict security measures were imposed across Islamabad such as barriers installed across the entrance and exit points, police and ranger forces.
Throughout all of this, a couple is going viral for the creative way they celebrated their wedding despite the lockdown.
A wedding photography page ‘The Talent Studios’ shared videos of a couple taking their wedding photo shoot next to the barriers installed at the entrance of the city. Making a real example of how despite the bad times, Pakistanis will always know how to bring humour and joy.

Since the lockdown was imposed all over Islamabad, tiktok users have shared videos of the conditions of the city and jokingly renaming it as ‘container city’ because of the barriers installed everywhere.

Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi was also present at the protests, where she called for supporters to urge for the end of Imran Khan’s illegal incarceration. According to Geo, she said the protests would not end until the former prime minister was released from prison.
” I will stand firm until my last breath. You must stand with me, and even if you don’t, I will continue because this is not just about my husband; it is about this country and its leader.”
