Trigger warning: this story contains details of child abuse
A shocking incident has taken place in North Cantonment, Lahore, where a maid was caught abusing a three-month old infant on camera.
According to Dawn, the maid, Saima, beat up the infant in order to take revenge against the employers. Police officials also reported to the news outlet that the maid had tried to strangle the infant several times, which was all seen on security camera.
The complainant also added in the FRI that Saima had stolen several amounts of cash and jewellery from their house. An investigation over the incident is currently underway.
This follows the recent string of horrific crimes that have taken place in Lahore. In January, a father and son in Mughalpura were arrested after they shot and killed a woman over a minor argument. According to Express News, the duo were found with the help of CCTV cameras, along with the murder weapon.

Meanwhile in Jhelum, a 20 year old girl was shot dead by her brothers because of her TikTok videos. According to news reports, the brothers had taken this action after she had refused to pay heed to their warnings by shutting down her account.
After her murder, the family had attempted to cover up the murder scene by claiming that the girl had committed suicide.
