One such incident came to light in the Kasur’s area of Ganja Kalaan, where a groom wouldn’t let floods get in his way to get his bride!
Travel by road had been made impossible by flooding in the River Sutlej. The groom along with the baraatis sought Rescue 1122’s help and used their boat to get to the bride’s village, Hujra Shah Muqeem.
The onlookers were shocked as well as amused at such a spectacle.The wedding procession travelled with the whole shabang, a proper ‘Dhol Walaa’ also accompanied providing entertainment on way. The Dhol was played as soon as the boat hit ground on arrival to the Bride’s village making for the most romantic spectacle.
Despite the obstacles the groom was successful in bringing the bride with him.
The groom’s brother expressed his gratitude towards the Rescue 1122 team for providing protection and the boat for this endevor.
