As Kafeel progresses, Zeba’s (Sanam Saeed) life is completely transforming, with her trying to accept that Jamshed (Emmad Irfani) is her husband and moving forward with life. Her life takes a fateful turn by a single note on a napkin; her mother (Munazza Arif) pushes her into a marriage without knowing the groom properly. Finding safety in her best friend’s demeanour, the mother convinces the family to hand over their daughter to them in a riff.

Now married to an unknown man, Zeba experiences Jamshed’s narcissistic traits as he shows off that he was interested in another woman before his newlywed wife. Zeba, who already feels betrayed because she was misled into this marriage, now has to carry the weight of his toxicity.

His demand for dowry after the swift marriage also enlightens another aspect of his personality: greed. Despite his well-off background, he shows selfish behaviour over small things, like the gifts received at their wedding. Zeba is unaware of what more can come of this marriage.

As she is grieving over her loss, Zeba also has to be present as a loving and devoted wife to a man who clearly seems uninterested in her. Her constant state of anguish is making her siblings feel worried, yet Jamshed’s financial background is what is keeping her parents satisfied.

As Sanam Saeed’s performance as Zeba is winning acclaim, viewers are upset about how her fate changed because of a mere napkin. Appreciating the depth in the character, a user posted on X:
