Kafeel has taken off to a good start as the highly anticipated Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani starrer aired its first episode. Written by Umera Ahmad and directed by Meesam Naqvi, the drama took viewers back to the 90s, with the story beginning in its first chapter, “The Past”.

The slow-paced plot revolves around a family, specifically the young Zeba (Sanam Saeed), a Bachelor’s student who displays many youthful traits and desires. The vintage screen effect accurately conveys that the story is now in the past. Zeba comes from a middle-class family, focusing on her studies while she is surrounded by rich fellows, one of whom is married and settled.

Zeba, who can be seen wooed by the idea of marriage, is full of youthful desires any girl her and time would be. Her fascination becomes reality when she encounters a man, in the most dramatic way possible, the dupatta being stuck in his guitar as he comes to perform at her friend’s birthday party.

Where her feelings are unravelling, another marriage proposal is brewing, which is clearly shut down by Zeba’s father, Jawad(Kashif Mehmood), who wishes that her daughter finish her Master’s degree before any proposal is put forward.

Kafeel is a good blend of romance, drama and comedy, and viewers are amazed by its cinematography and attention to detail. Reminiscing about the old times, a user commented that they are enjoying the theme and stated:
