In an attempt to control Qais’s constant distress, Laila has taken it upon herself to fix things with his parents. Episode 16 captures scenes of her visiting her in-laws and requesting them to move in with her and Qais. However, she is met with utter coldness and disregard as they demand that she leave. She implores for her innocence, tells them how coming from a nuclear family, she desired to be with a fuller household. She wanted to cherish more relationships with diverse dynamics; however, what went on within the family was something her conscience did not allow her to ignore.

Regardless of her efforts, she is constantly met with the accusation that her being modern and open-minded has led the family to split up.  She is told that girls who marry their love interest only want a house where it’s just them and their spouse. Her effort is considered a pretension, yet she insists on either living with them or moving in with her in their new home. Qais’s mother claims that the day her son decided to marry her, she knew that it was a bad omen. And now, the hearts are full of hatred and the parents are left alone.

Laila is blamed for feeding hatred to her husband, pushing him to move out of the family home. In reaction to which, she can be seen splitting some facts. She says that her modern mindset does not make her rude; instead, she has a deep understanding of respecting older adults and their emotions. She highlights that the hatred was embedded in the hearts of the family members. What happened was bound, she only became the first domino to fall. The family was forced to live together because of their father’s fear and stubbornness.

The father’s stubbornness is met with great criticism by the audience. A X user wrote:

Regardless of their behavior with her, she apologizes to them, though Qais and Laila are not responsible for all the mess. She requests that they let go of hatred and understand that their son is suffering because of the distance. However, the father-in-law responds with a clear no.

The viewers appreciate Laila’s efforts. A user commented:
