Fashion designer and actor HSY was a guest on Ambreen Fatima’s Youtube channel where he spoke up on the public backlash towards Fawad Khan’s silence during the ongoing Indian-Pakistan tensions.
The fashion designer began by saying that he knew the Maula Jatt actor really well, and especially was aware of how much of a die-hard Pakistani Fawad truly was. He also added that actors like Hania Aamir were recently new in the industry and she was also a very patriotic person.
The ‘Pehli Si Muhabbat’ actor went on to comment that the backlash to actors came from a place of fear and also when people were incredibly passionate about defending the country. He explained that he understood why fans were disappointed by the statements made by some actors because they had followed their films and dramas for a long time.
“I think all of this backlash came from a place when we were incredibly scared, and also how passionate we were about defending the country. You think that you are well aware of what goes on in a star’s life, since you made them the person they are today. Fans might have been disappointed in their favourite actors since they expected them to say a lot more. I believe that the fans are valid for these feelings, but as far as I know my friends, I can assure you that they are patriotic.”

Recently, actor Faisal Qureshi had also defended the ‘Humsafar’ actor in a conversation with a journalist at the promotional campaign of his film ‘Deemak’ he said that it wasn’t right to berate our own actors. He had defended both Fawad and Hania, pointing out that both actors were facing pressure because of the international projects they were working on at the time, the actor must have refrained from speaking in fear of damaging a career milestone.
