The film “London Nahi Jaunga” is already gathering a lot of anticipation among audiences as it’s the sequel to the popular comedy film “Punjab Nahi Jaunga”. Humayun Saeed sat down with Independent Urdu to discuss the film and why we chose the title:
‘My former film “Punjab Nahi Jaungi” was receiving praises in Pakistan and abroad. So I was sitting with some friends in the UK, where my movie was playing, and one of them suggested that I should make another film but base it in London. So I decided to do this.”
Humayun and Mehvish Hayat are among the actors who are reprising their original roles from the first film. The actor explained that the script will be set in London, and this time the characters will be the same but the situation will be completely different:
“We thought that since people loved the first film so much, then we should do this again. And this is after four years our sequel is coming out. The characters will be the same, but this time they will be in a completely different situation.”
The film is about the landlord Chaudhry Jameel (played by Humayun Saeed) whose parents have arranged his marriage with his cousin Arzoo (played by Kubra Khan). But Chaudhry is against the marriage as he has fallen in love with Zahra Tiwana, who lives in London.
The film released in cinemas on 8th July across Pakistan.
