Attacks against religious minorities in India are not new; however, in their defence, the university authorities have stated that the building, Lal Baradari, is on the brink of collapse. They added that the decision was taken to protect the students from any unforeseen accident.

Soon, the video went viral and was lauded for the religious harmony displayed by Lucknow University students, in times when religious differences are at their peak in the country. Stating that all religions must be given the right to live without intimidation, a user posted on X:
Beautiful. Hindus and Muslims deserve to live free from intimidation because of who they are.
Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism and Islam have been in India for thousands of years with Islam and Sikhism taking root much later.
India’s history is interwoven with these faiths. https://t.co/m1zedSAqpJ

Respect to those students, that’s the India many still believe in.
When young people choose humanity over hate, they show the country’s true strength. India can be truly great when unity, constitutional values, and mutual respect rise above divisive politics and extremist…

One added that hatred is damaging the social fabric of the country and posted on X:
India needs more students like them who believe in humanity. People r tired n fed up with the hateful and divisive policy. Who r burning social fabrics of India, Their children are living outside India n enjoying life but here they want other children to dance in front of mosque.
