The 19th Lux Style Awards was put together completely virtually from jury sessions to the actual award ceremony and the award show has surprised us for all the good reasons. The Annual Lux Style Awards, Pakistan’s most anticipated national entertainment awards that credit the best of performing artists from the Fashion and Entertainment industries every year, have managed to pull through.

2020 has been a hard year for all, with events being cancelled globally, people expressed disappointment on losing out on occasions. A virtual LSA means that the general audience will still get the dose of entertainment the awards bring every year. Shot in studios following all SOPs, the show will be ready to view on YouTube on the 31st of December and on Geo Entertainment on the 2nd of January. Deciding to carry forward the show means the well deserved will get a reason to celebrate in a year that has been a downer for all.

Despite being virtual, the brand managed to pull content from both rising and renowned celebrities to ensure that the show is a virtual treat. The red carpet looks were a tad dimmed but still as glamorous as they are every year as well as the star-studded line up of celebrities spotted. We saw celebrities such as the gorgeous Mahira Khan, the bold and beautiful Sohai Ali Abro, the stunning Iqra Aziz, the dapper Fawad Khan, the charming Imran Ashraf and many more send messages for LSA either as performers, presenters or winners.

A lot of diversity has been witnessed with the LSAs this year. With 10 year old Hadia Hashmi winning singer of the year to 85 year old, nation’s favourite Anwar Maqsood, winning the lifetime achievement award. New comers like Imran Ashraf and Zahid Ahmed clocked up wins while traditional favourites and regulars like Sana Safinaz and Mahira Khan won yet again.

Mehwish Hayat and Ahmed Ali Butt will be hosting the show together. Ahmed has done several LSAs before and is an audience favourite known for his wittiness and sarcasm that leaves viewers rolling with laughter. Mehwish Hayat, 2020’s LUX girl, will be accompanying Ahmed. One being a natural comedian and the other being a born actress, how the duo’s chemistry will roll on screen is something to look forward to.

While the red carpet is usually an exclusive affair for those witnessing the event on ground, this year’s LSA will bring the entire experience to everyone at home. With supermodel and current favourite Mushk Kaleem as the red carpet host, the audience will get to hear the fashionable questions asked on the carpet. While viewers are seated at home, entertainment will not take a back seat. With never seen before duets as musical numbers and dances, and our favourite faces connecting from their homes or safely from a studio, this show is a must watch.

The LUX Style Awards for Fashion, Film, Music and TV will be available to watch on youtube.com/luxstyleawardsPK on Dec 31st and on Geo Entertainment on 2nd January at 7:30pm.
