On Friday, the internet was left spellbound by the Spring/ Summer Maison Margeila Courture show which featured John Gallaino’s theatrical fashion looks, along with the porcelain-doll glass look on the models. The bell of the ball was actress and model Gwendoline Christine, who has gone viral after she closed the runway in a blue corset gown, glazed makeup look along with a red lip and blue eyeshadow.

Pat McGrath, the makeup artist behind the craft, has remained a steadfast icon in the beauty world since the 90’s. She was the first makeup artist to be made a Dame commander of the British Empire in 2021, and was included in Time Magazine’s 100 most influential list in 2019. And now, the internet is going ballistic over pictures of models with glass-like skin, and are scrambling to find ways to re-create the look.

The couture makeup was inspired by Galliano’s early 2000’s shows, when models on the runway debuted makeup looks created by McGrath which comprised of thin, pencil- drawn eyebrows and blue eye shadow, with dramatic colors surrounding the cheeks.

Although McGrath has not said a word about how she created the porcelain glass look on the models and has promised to spill her secrets soon, but the look has already gone viral on TikTok with several makeup lovers using their own inspirations on how everyday products can be used to make you look like you stepped out of a Tim Burton movie.

TikTok user Beautybyhala recreated the look on her account and formed the porcelain makeup look by clear peel off face mask which she mixed with water to dilute it, and then applied it using an airbrush machine.

Erin Parsons, a makeup artists whose clientele list includes Gigi and Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima and Kendall Jenner, had worked with Pat previously, and she recreated the makeup look by using Freeman’s peel-off gel mask, a product she mixed with water to get the diluted look, and applied five layers on her face with an airbrush machine, while using a blow dryer in between every single time.
