Pakistani musician and actor Gohar Mumtaz was a guest on the podcast At The Nest where he opened up about the breakup of the rock band Jal, and the reason why Farhan Saeed had left.

“Farhan wanted to be Atif Aslam by going to Bollywood”, Gohar revealed. “I used to tell him that he’s Atif Aslam, he left at the right time and there are several singers out there who are trying to become like him. For you the best platform is Jal.”

Gohar said Farhan’s decision was very hurtful as the ‘Tanhai’ actor revealed he worked incredibly hard on Saeed, who he revealed had an “average voice” before. The ‘Sajni’ singer said he had tried to explain to Farhan to stay, but eventually couldn’t stop someone who was set about exploring a different career path.
