Fawad Khan’s classic gem Satrangi reappears as netizens appreciate the timeless storytelling and remarkable acting in the 2008 drama. Written by Jawad Daud and directed by Anjum Shehzad, it is a travelogue where seven friends embark on a journey across Pakistan. From Karachi to Khyber on a bus trip, the friends go through a transformation. Portrayed as a rainbow, the group consists of four boys and three girls who walk out of their homes in an attempt to live life on their terms.

The group is led by Behzaad(played by Fawad Khan), a wealthy boy who is struggling to have a relationship with his father, while Neshmia(played by Sawera Pasha) is having troubles with her mother. Rayan(played by Zohaib Ahmad) is stuck in a white collared job, and Khayam(played by Agha Ali) is an aspiring musician still finding his spark. Shehroze(played by Hamza Ansari), on the other hand, is from a remote village who believes urban life is for him. Rushna(played by Ambreen Gul) has grown beyond her age, while Bisma(Sehar Gul) desperately needs love in her life.

Behzaad has built the bus for this purpose only. The trip, planned for three days, stretches over months, as everyone unloads their emotional baggage on the way. The clips from the show can be found on YouTube; however, the whole series is not uploaded on any platform. A X user wrote:
Our friend, late Jawad Daud, had written the show for GEO after months of research & travelling to the most remote parts of Pakistan. It was way ahead of its time back then. It’s sad that our channels have no proper archiving system which could allow such shows to be watched now https://t.co/x8tMN28pZB pic.twitter.com/haLUQMqNtj

The netizens, however, could remember watching the classic! A X user said:
Fawad Khan did this insane drama “Satrangi” about wandering across Pakistan, from the mountains to the seashores, with a group of friends, back an age ago. I remember watching it in middle school at 7 in the evening. This was the OST. https://t.co/ghXuNA0YCD

Calling it iconic, another X user wrote:
I was obsessed with that show and that sassi song that one of the characters used to sing when they went to bhambhore city and also those words like “unbardashtable” – Satrangi was iconic https://t.co/yR9xZUjcy8

The TV series resurfaced earlier as well when Fawad Khan performed Satrangi OST at the Pepsi Battle of the Bands in 2018.
