Senior actor, director and producer Abid Ali passed away at the age of 67. He had been ailing from a liver disease for a long time and was being treated in a private hospital in Karachi. His family took on social media to confirm the news. Abid Ali has three daughters, including renowned model and actress, Iman Aly.

Abid Ali was born in 1952 in Quetta, and worked at Radio Pakistan for some time and then launched a successful career with PTV in 1973. His role as ‘ Dilawar Khan’ in drama serial ‘Waris’ was a turning point in his career and that drama serial made a mark as one of the best classic serials of PTV. Abid Ali made his debut as a director and producer with the famous drama serial ‘Dasht’ in 1993 which was a massive hit and his role as ‘ Shams Shah’ was highly acclaimed. Abid Ali has numerous films and dramas under his name and was the recipient of the prestigious ‘Pride of Performance’.
