Former cricket star Shahid Afridi was speaking to GEO reporters where he expressed his disappointment in Babar Azam’s captaincy. Discussing his performance in the recent matches, Afridi urged the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) management to quickly make a decision about the team and let go of the captain or team member who is under performing.

“I was also the captain of the cricket team, so was Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, no one has gotten as much opportunities the way Babar did,” said Afridi. “The second a world cup finishes the captain is tackled.”

Afridi further elaborated that Babar had played several international tournaments and has been given several chances “Whatever ‘surgery’ you need to do, hurry up with it so that the next person can be trained for the position.”

‘Boom Boom’ Afridi also responded to the ousting of former cricket members Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz from the PCB selection committee, saying he did not understand the motive behind this decision.
