The highly anticipated Aik Aur Pakeezah has now taken the screens, with an impactful story of love through the lens of a cybercrime case. A Geo and Kashaf Foundation production, the drama serial is written by Bee Gul and directed by Kashif Nisar. Pakeezah(Sehar Khan) and Faraz(Nameer Khan) found themselves in the middle of a scandal when they were caught together in a hotel room by some goons.
Though both are lovers, are forced into a marriage and kicked out of their homes on the accusation of misconduct. Happy faces turned grim. Faraz and Pakeezah are set off into the world to rebuild their lives without family or any support.

The drama serial opens with a crime scene, where the couple is recorded in a hotel room at gunpoint, where they are forced to remove their clothes to depict an explicit encounter. The glimpses from the past show a happy family and cherished relationships, which turn into hatred after an orchestrated incident.

Pakeezah and Faraz move into Faraza’s friend’s house, who is newly married and away for their honeymoon for two weeks. This is the buffer for the new couple, who have to find a new house for themselves and start their life where society is ready to cast stones at them.

The horrid tale has grabbed viewers’ attention in the first episode, and they look forward to seeing how Pakeezah and Faraz navigate life. Calling it a hard-hitting start, a legal advisor, Reema Omar, posted on X:
Such a hard-hitting, traumatising start to #AikAurPakeezah on Geo
Excellent performances all around; exceptional writing by Bee Gul; and stellar direction and non-linear storytelling by Kashif Nisar
It seems loosely inspired by the Usman Mirza case from 2022, and has already… pic.twitter.com/1pwZutUedn

#AikAurPakeezah thought we would get a light-hearted start; instead,we were thrown right into a gut-wrenching scene that scares you to the core. dark reality of present times interwoven with happy flashbacks was absolutely brilliant. @KashfFoundation ate it and left no crumbs. pic.twitter.com/dxN9XWNbEX

The director, Kashif Nisar, won acclaim for his parallel storytelling, with a story that included glimpses of a happy past, keeping the audience engaged. Appreciating the director’s vision, a netizen said:
Kashif Nisar’s choice to opt a non linear method of storytelling with parallels from the past and peripheral plotlines like the dichotomy of the two couples, the metaphor of the pinjra & more makes this a much more HAUNTING watch than it could’ve been otherwise.#AikAurPakeezah pic.twitter.com/Zt5n77pQbc

I’m in awe of @iamseharkhan & @nameernkhan in #AikAurPakeezah! What a gripping, solid first episode, immediately highlighting the hypocrisy of society, which holds sheltered girls in high regard, but throws them away in the name of honor when they make mistakes. #PakistaniDramas pic.twitter.com/qX5U8UlCik

The depth of the character depiction grabbed attention, as Pakeezah’s mother and brother still try to support her as she leaves the house, even though she is engulfed in hatred. A user commented:
the details in both these scenes👏 how pakeezah’s mother walks away from her, but hands her the gold kara. and how her brother breaks her phone, but still puts money into her bag. i like how every character is still shown to have a certain extent of humanity #aikaurpakeezah pic.twitter.com/fNH1i4I7LL

When Pakizah’s mother placed that gold bangle in her trembling hands and walked away without a word, Pakizah standing there, stunned without saying a word. What a hauntingly powerful moment.
