In the heavy and dramatic story of Mitti De Baway, where revenge and ambition drive the plot, Baala’s (Wahaj Ali) growing connection with Qamar Un Nisa (Hina Afridi) shows a deeply flawed hero looking for an escape. While Billo (Mahira Khan) stays focused on securing power and protecting her children, Baala is a man broken by his circumstances. However, his decision to seek comfort outside his marriage creates a sharp divide between his duties and emotional needs.
Billo operates with a sharp and strategic mind, tricking Peer Sahab (Javed Rizvi) into signing important documents to guarantee her family’s future. Her every move is calculated out of necessity. In contrast, Baala is guided entirely by his heart. He continues to fulfill his basic duties by financially supporting Zareena (Amar Khan) and his family, ensuring they are cared for materially. Yet, emotionally, he has completely checked out; instead of confronting the tension at home, he uses his feelings to justify walking away from his emotional obligations as a husband.

Baala’s home life fell apart after Zareena learned the truth about his hidden identity as a marasi. The revelation ruined their status, leaving Zareena bitter and holding him responsible for their ruined peace. Facing a wife who constantly reminds him of his past mistakes makes his home feel like a prison. To cope with this sad reality, Baala seeks refuge with Qamar Un Nisa, the vulnerable widow of his late friend. For Baala, Qamar Un Nisa offers a soft space free from judgment, where he can temporarily forget his painful life. She waits for his arrival, feeds him, and tends to his wounds when he returned injured. In return, Qamar Un Nisa reclaims her right to happiness, trading pale widow’s clothes for bright colors, kajal-filled eyes, and bangles.

While Baala provides for Zareena and turns to Qamar Un Nisa simply as an escape from a loveless marriage, he is still flirting with another woman while leaving his wife and child in emotional turmoil, regardless.

Viewers too are divided between a grieving man seeking comfort or a husband avoiding his true responsibilities towards his wife. Many understand Baala’s desire to be loved and respected, others compare how differently Baala and Billo have reacted to their turmoil. Calling Baala’s escape to Qamar Un Nisa, a great plot development, a usee posted:
Baala needs comfort& peace. His wife turned against him(justified) in his tragedic part. He had lost brother, a happy family& business. He got little hope over life, required comfort and peace from Qamrunisa
Great story development

Stating that Baala is emotionally driven, another user added:
Billo has a revenge plan, an inheritance plan and a plan for her children’s future. Bala has apparently outsourced all decision-making to his feelings
The difference in their survival strategies is sending me💀#MittiDeBaway #WahajAli #MahiraKhan https://t.co/WKORnrrKrt

Adding how he is engulfed in a love affair while a whole revenge plot is in the making in the background, another X user added:
Billo is literally plotting her revenge against him while Baala ko Aashqui se fursat hi nahi 😈 not gonna lie, it’s so enjoyable watching such a flawed protagonist. Also, Wahaj & Hina have surprisingly good chemistry. #MittiDeBaway https://t.co/hhq8rozzV4
