A complicated case has occurred in Karachi’s Nazimabad area where a newborn child has allegedly gone missing following a delivery procedure, ARY News reported. As the victimized family staged a strong protest over their missing child, the hospital administration has completely denied that any birth took place. A formal complaint has been filed with the local police, in which the family claims that the pregnant woman had been receiving regular check-ups, follow-ups, medical tests, and routine ultrasounds at the same private hospital throughout her nine-month pregnancy. A surgery was scheduled for August 27, 2026, for her delivery. However, following the surgery on the scheduled date, the attending doctor informed the family that no baby was born. The family maintains that they hold all necessary medical records, including multiple ultrasound reports collected throughout the course of the pregnancy, which serve as concrete proof of the birth.
Speaking to the media, the paternal uncle of the missing child stated that the family immediately approached law enforcement to seek justice. Acting on the complaint, the police initiated swift action and requested medical assistance from the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Further legal procedures will be determined once the Medical-Legal Officer (MLO) submits an official medical evaluation and report.
The Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed that police investigators have begun examining the hospital’s CCTV footage to establish the facts. Authorities assured that if the hospital management or staff are found to be involved in the child’s disappearance or any wrongdoing during the investigation, strict legal action will be taken against them.
