Lahore: 2 of 4 suspects arrested in woman’s gang-rape in Sabzazar; investigation underway

A horrific case of gang-rape has taken place in the Sabzazar area in Lahore, Express News reported. The Lahore Police has arrested two suspects in the case. A formal investigation and legal proceedings following a report of an alleged gang-rape of a woman are currently underway. According to police officials, the victim’s husband lodged a complaint alleging that four men were involved in the assault of his wife. Acting swiftly on the report, law enforcement authorities registered a case and initiated targeted operations across the area.
A spokesperson for the District Investigation General (DIG) Operations announced that police have arrested two nominated suspects, identified as Hamza and Qamar Abbas (alias Bodi). Interrogation of the detained suspects is currently underway as investigators work to reconstruct the timeline of the crime.

Meanwhile, the victim has been shifted for medical examination, and further legal procedures are being executed to secure vital forensic evidence. Police teams are actively conducting raids to trace and apprehend the remaining two absconding suspects. The spokesperson emphasized that authorities are thoroughly examining all aspects of the incident, gathering evidence, and ensuring that justice is delivered in accordance with the law.
