In a recent turn of events, a young man has allegedly died due to physical assault at Mind Rehab Center in the Tarlai area of Islamabad, ARY News reported. During the investigation, the police have revealed that visible marks of torture were found on the body, and it has been sent for postmortem. The police have also stated that following the incident, the staff and owner of the mental health and rehabilitation center, Dr. Hamza, have locked up the facility and fled.
According to details by the police, the victim had been admitted to the center in June 2026 for treatment, but the family was not allowed to see their patient. A case has been formally registered in the victim’s father’s name, who has stated that on July 9, 2026, he received a call from the facility’s administration stating that his son was suffering from dengue. However, upon arrival, it was discovered that he had already passed away, showing visible marks of torture.
The Shahzad Town Police is currently investigating the case from various angles, raids are being conducted to apprehend the fleeing staff and the owner.
