With Salman (Shuja Asad) and Saaniya (Kubra Khan) having each other’s backs, things have taken a drastic turn for Faizan (Adeel Hussain) and Minha (Hajra Yamin), as he is not only married to Dr Amber (Meera Sethi) but is also expecting a child with her. While his second marriage is still hidden, things are out of hand as not only the marriage but the pregnancy have come crashing down on Minha.
Minha, with her loyalties to her husband and his family, still ensures the comfort of the family so Dr Farheen’s (Saba Hamid) cancer treatment goes with ease. Under the pressure of not having a child, Minha continues to fulfil the household duties and wait on her husband while he devours being a father with his second wife.
While remaining calm, she visits Dr Amber in an attempt to understand what might have caused the extramarital affair. She ensures that she has kept her composure, yet the news that Faizan has married her in secret takes her into a whirlwind. Out of breath, sipping on water, she tries to decipher what hell had broken loose; what she believed was a rekindled affair is now a marriage. If the marriage was not enough, Minha comes across a bunch of prenatal medication belonging to Dr Amber. The blow is hard, and her cries echoing, Minha questions, why her?
As Minha goes through turmoil, viewers of Doctor Bahu are touched by Hajra’s apt portrayal of a woman betrayed by her partner. The way she embodied Minha’s agony, shock, anger and breakdown was highly appreciated by the audience. Calling her performance delicate and calculated, an X user posted:
