
A heartwrenching voice message has taken over the internet from a Pakistani crew member sending a final goodbye to his family. In the message, he states that their ship has been hijacked by the Somali pirates, who have taken control of their ship and taken them hostage. Once viral, information arrived that the hijacking occurred between April 21 and April 22, 2026, where a total of 22 crew members were held hostage, out of whch 11 are Pakistani. Concerned family members have been urging the government to ensure their safe return to Pakistan.

Celebrities have rallied behind and are demanding answers on the Pakistani crew members captive for almost a week. Actress Mahira Khan took to Instagram to share the news and asked what was being done for their daughter’s recovery. She posted:

In a latest update, a video of the hostages has been released by the Somali pirates, picturing the hostages held inside a ship in dire circumstances. The Governor of Sindh, Nehal Hashmi, has also held a press conference stating that the government stands with the families of the victims and will not leave them stranded. He was accompanied by the family members of the crew members.
