Stating that an artist’s personal life must remain personal, she said that everyone has a right to celebrate in their own way. Hira was infuriated by the comments about Saba and added that if one disagrees with someone, it does not give them the right to disrespect artists. She said it is about time we stop judging women based on their clothing and conduct. She added that Saba is one of the country’s greatest names and that one must not pass such demeaning comments on her conduct and morals.
Her backlash was directed towards social media commentator Dr. Ejaz Waris, who objected to Saba’s birthday celebration, calling it objectionable and immoral. He went on to comment on what women wore and how they conducted themselves at the party. He said that Saba is an ideal and must set an example of ‘decency and morality’ for the youth. Along with Saba, he also criticized others present at the party.
