Locked by fate and their family’s pressure, Sania (Kubra Khan) and Salman (Shuja Asad) see a marriage unfold before them while they seek to prioritize their careers. With Sania focused on her FCPS exams and Salman working to expand his business, the only hope of salvaging this relationship may lie in their ability to communicate. Both give in to their family’s wishes, but can cater to anything that comes before them with ease.
With each with their own battles in life, the two seem like a mismatched couple, yet the ease between the two indicates a chemistry building up. Though they have had only conversations to clarify their positions in certain situations, they both tend to build their boundaries and understand how the relationship may work in the future.
Salman pops up at her workplace to set the record straight regarding his career choices, and Sania clarifies that she looks forward to building her life on her own with no interest in his family’s riches. The two work hard to prove themselves; Sania chases her dream of becoming a surgeon, and Salman wants to prove to his father that he is worthy, despite not being a doctor.
Salman also wishes to protect Sania from the patriarchy rooted in his family; a woman not ‘allowed’ to pursue her career and ambitions because of a man’s ego and race to be ahead. He understands that she is a strong and independent woman who will not tolerate her in-laws’ controlling behavior.
A man who despises doctors due to personal trauma is set to live with one and a woman with a bright future is expected to give up her career, leaving with one question: will their relationship hang onto the thread of communication? The relationship being built on open conversations is what the Doctor Bahu audience expects from the highly impactful drama serial. While it opens up on the struggles of female doctors post marriage, the viewers expect a healthy relationship to be built on the foundation of healthy communication.
