Lahore: Police arrest man for killing 30-year-old wife in domestic dispute

A disturbing incident emerged from Lahore’s Shadman area, where a husband has allegedly killed his 30-year-old wife following a domestic dispute. The victim has been identified as Bakhtawar, who had been married to the suspect for almost 12 years and shared three children.

The suspect has been identified as Ismail, who used a sharp-edged weapon to kill his wife, which he later claimed was a robbery, before the police. He had reported the incident to the rescue services himself and raised an alarm, stating that unknown intruders had entered his house.

Elaborating on the crime, the police stated that after a preliminary investigation, they noticed inconsistencies in his statement, which heightened suspicion. On the basis of the suspicion, Ismail was taken into custody, and during interrogation, it was determined that he was the culprit.

The police also stated that the couple had a history of frequent domestic disputes that led to the fatal confrontation. The police have recovered the alleged murder weapon, and further legal proceedings are underway post-arrest. The police added that the ongoing investigation is aimed at determining the details of the tragic case.
