Murree: 21-year-old woman dies after leaping from speeding car to escape sexual assault attempt; suspect arrested

Haunting news came from Murree, where a 21-year-old girl has allegedly died after she jumped from a speeding car in order to prevent a sexual assault attempt, ARY News reported. The police have arrested a suspect, the driver and filed a First Information Report (FIR) against two suspects, the driver and another man who was inside the car.

The incident took place on February 14, 2026, when the young girl took a lift from the culprits on the Murree Expressway on her way to a madrissah. The victim jumped out of the car when the driver did not drop her off at her drop-off location and sped off in the car. The fall caused severe injuries, and the girl was immediately moved to District Headquarters(DHQ) Hospital, Murree, by emergency services(1122). Later, she was moved to DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi, where she succumbed to her injuries within 24 hours.

Sharing details of the case, District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr Muhammad Raza Tanveer, stated that the community had successfully handed the culprit over to the police. They intercepted the speeding vehicle and informed the police and emergency services (1122) about the incident. The suspects were locals, and the police are currently interrogating the driver in custody. The driver has denied all accusations, and the police are also waiting for documentation from emergency services (1122) before taking the case to court.

The victim’s father(also complainant) stated that his daughter was an alimah who just finished her education at a madrissah.
