Kasur: 4-year-old girl assaulted and dumped in drain, police forms special team to arrest suspect

A dreadful incident occurred in Kasur where a 4-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and thrown into a drain, Express News reported. The minor is being treated at Lahore General Hospital after being transferred from District Headquarters Hospital, Kasur, in critical condition.

The girl child was recovered by the rescue team from a sewage drain in the Mustafa Abad area of the city and had deep wounds on her genitals. The rescue team added that the girl was thrown into the drain with the intent to kill. They moved the injured child to the Baba Bulleh Shah Hospital.

While the suspect has not yet been apprehended, a case has been registered by the Station House Officer (SHO) at Mustafa Abad. Briefing the media on the case, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Kasur stated that a special team has been formed to arrest the culprit under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation. With confidence in apprehending the suspect, the DPO stated that the team is reviewing CCTV footage and utilising mosque announcements.

The victim is currently out of danger after surgical procedures, while a 9 member medical board has been formed for the child’s care.
