Police recover abducted 5-year-old Karachi girl from Sahiwal, arrest female suspect

Police have successfully recovered a five-year-old girl, Iman Fatima, who was abducted from Karachi’s Liaquatabad area and taken to Sahiwal, ARY News reported. The abduction case had been registered at the Liaquatabad Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s father. A special team was then formed under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police (SP), Investigation Model Town, to recover the girl.

The team began tracking the suspect’s movements using modern technology and human intelligence tools. The victim, identified as Iman Fatima, was abducted near her residence, prompting a swift investigation, which led to the police raid in Sahiwal.

After the minor’s safe recovery, Liaquatabad Investigation In-Charge, Waleed Hussain, spoke to the media and said that the kidnapper was a woman who transported the child to Sahiwal after abducting her. The suspect was arrested on the spot during the raid.

Officials emphasised that the efficient coordination between Karachi and Sahiwal police played a crucial role in the timely rescue operation. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation, Muhammad Naveed, praised the team’s efforts and announced commendation certificates in recognition of their performance.

The child was later handed over to her family, who expressed relief and gratitude to the authorities for ensuring her safe return. The investigation into the motive behind the abduction is ongoing.
