Police in Lahore have arrested a domestic worker accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl in the city’s Barki area, Express News reported. Acting on an emergency call to the police helpline, the police swiftly arrested the suspect, identified as Faisal.
Station House Officer(SHO )Barki Muhammad Imran Nawaz and his team reached the scene promptly and apprehended the suspect. He was following the instructions of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantonment, Ikhlaq-ul-Lah Tarar. Police stated that the man allegedly lured the child away under the pretence of playing and took her to a nearby haveli, where the crime was committed.
The child’s mother has filed a complaint, and a case has been registered, where the investigation is underway. The investigation has been formally handed over to the Gender Cell to ensure a focused and sensitive inquiry. Authorities said the child has been provided medical assistance, and further forensic and legal procedures are being done.
While speaking to the media, SP Ikhlaq-ul-Lah Tarar commended the police team for their swift response and emphasised that the department is committed to ensuring justice in cases involving crimes against children. He stated that individuals involved in such acts of sexual exploitation will be brought to justice and dealt with according to the law.
