Sher has got us glued to the TV screens every Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm. As the story unfolds we have quite a lot of hopes pinned on several plots building up in the drama. Without doubt we’re waiting for Fajar’s father to forgive her (or ask for her forgiveness after coming to a just realization) and ultimately Sher and Fajar’s union.
But what we have recently been introduced to is a hint towards Taj Bibi’s marriage. This is a turn for which we’re eager to see Kaka Sahab getting back home to realize that Taj Bibi, as his daughter, didn’t have to sacrifice her happiness in return for his happiness. We can hope for Kaka Sahab to make the right decision about her marriage and to someone she’s actually into!
We’ve witnessed a potential love story brewing between Taj Bibi and Dr. Riaz. Their interaction started off in a lot of friction. Dr. Riaz would challenge her when she gave him a hard time in the hospital.
In the latest episode 35 of Sher. The moment he talks to her about the unexpected nature of life and how she should be thankful for things she already has. Taj Bibi’s expressions in the scene say it all.
Her issues are legitimate and a result of patriarchy and following traditions that blindly claims happiness of females. In the run to become ‘the perfect daughter’ for her father she became bitter, deprived of a normal relationship with nobody in the family.
If the drama claims closure to the unjust sacrifices demanded of daughters in the name of honor through Taj Bibi’s story, the writer would definitely deserve a kudos!
It was most certainly NOT Badar chacha the writer wanted to pair Taj Bibi with, because even Taj Bibi deserves better!
