A Pakistani-British family comprising of a mother and three children where killed in a house fire in North West London on Saturday. Police authorities arrested the alleged murderer who was found near the property and have held him in custody on suspicion of murder.

The deceased family comprised of 43-year-old Nusrat Uman, and her three children Maryam Mikaiel, Musa Usman and Raees Usman. The London Fire Brigade released a statement, revealing that the mother and a child were rescued from the second floor of the property, but they were declared as dead by the Helicopter Emergency Services team. The other two children were discovered to be deceased by authorities during the rescue.
The police also said a 70 year old woman and a 13 year old girl from the same family were rescued from the burning home, and were currently in critical condition.

Speaking to the BBC, neighbours said the family had moved from Pakistan to London 20 years ago and had lived in the area for years.
Local polticians have expressed their shock on social media regarding the incident, and neighbours also expressed their grief at the devastation caused by the fire. In a tweet posted on X, the London mayor Sadiq Khan expressed his devastation regarding the incident.
