Fashion designer Maria B was a guest on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast where she opened up about why she feels women should not join the modelling industry. The designer said there are fewer Pakistani models because women do not join this field because of family restrictions. Maria said she would discourage women from joining this field because of the heinous incidents she has heard about.

“There are some photographers who keep you safe and are family-oriented,” said Maria B. “But there have been some scary incidents in this field, towards female and male models as well.”

The designer said because of the limited choices in models and less competition, the women who do join the profession charge high rates for shoots. Whereas in comparison, international models charge less in comparison because modelling is considered as a proper profession there.
